She is also one of the country's most celebrated living portrait artists. This painting depicts the foyer of the Birkbeck building, a four story structure in downtown Toronto. It is a National Historic Site of Canada and since 1976 it is protected under the Ontario Heritage Act. First serving as the Canadian Birkbeck
